Silicon Valley Young Professionals (SVYP) Hope to Inspire Change With New Website
SANTA CLARA, CA (December, 2008) – Hoping to inspire change and connect young professionals to the community, the Silicon Valley Young Professionals (SVYP) group has just launched a new website at www.siliconvalleyyp.com. The site includes information on upcoming social and educational events, photos from past events, and general information on the group. SVYP’s mission is to empower young professionals ages 21-45 professionally as individuals and as a group. The Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce sponsored group hopes to act as a catalyst for ambitious, like-minded individuals to grow professionally and personally. SVYP’s next event is Friday, December 19 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Community Services at 1381 South First St. in San Jose. It will be a Toy Drive/Distribution event. “Silicon Valley Young Professionals” Focuses on Networking and Leadership Opportunities
SANTA CLARA, CA (September, 2008) – The Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce’s newest program is the creation of the “Silicon Valley Young Professionals (SVYP) group. The new program’s goal is to focus on providing networking and leadership opportunities for young professionals (ages 21-45) in Santa Clara and Silicon Valley. “We are very excited about providing the young professionals in Silicon Valley with a forum to grow their future,” said Steve Van Dorn, president and CEO of the Santa Clara Chamber of Commerce and Convention-Visitors Bureau. SVYP will include small group networking events, professional development programs and seminars, and quarterly themed events designed to bring together the region’s future leaders. The group’s inaugural networking event is Saturday, September 27 at the San Jose Earthquakes game at Buck Shaw Stadium at Santa Clara University. The private tailgate party and networking event takes place from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. followed by the game. Cost to attend is $20.00 for SVYP and Chamber of Commerce members and $30.00 for non-members. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
